The New Light / core playlists are free. Expansions and dungeons are paid. The store page lists what is included.
Solo?
Patrol and many strikes yes. Raids no.
Which class?
Hunter, Titan, Warlock. Pick the movement you like; all three clear content.
Crossplay?
Yes. Create a Bungie account and use fireteam finder or friends.
