Jockey and Contain
Jockey, contain, tackle when the ball is exposed. Lunging is the bug; the patch is your right stick.
Best for: Anyone who says defending feels scripted

Step-by-step
- 1
On the turn, switch to the nearest logical defender — not the keeper, not the striker.
- 2
Hold jockey. Cut the passing lane. Do not sprint-jockey into a skill move unless you mean it.
- 3
Second-man press to shepherd, not to send both CBs to the corner flag.
- 4
Tackle when the ball is free. A 1-bar lunge in the D is a penalty practice tool.
- 5
If they beat you, recover the line. Chasing as a CB to the halfway line is the counter they wanted.
Tips
- Why defending feels bad: you are probably lunging.
- Let the keeper AI deal with the first ball unless you are claiming a cross on purpose.
- Practice in Kick Off until Rivals does not feel like a different game.
