GD Tips and Tricks

Practical Geometry Dash habits: the taxes most new players keep paying, and what to do instead.

Habit 1: stop paying this tax

Playing from 0 for two hours on a level you have not practiced in sections. Flip it: Beat the official Stereo Madness through Dry Out before jumping into Extreme Demons. Your muscle memory is not ready.

Habit 2: stop paying this tax

Changing FPS, CBF, or physics mods without understanding bans/rules of the servers you care about. Flip it: Use practice mode checkpoints. That is the intended teacher.

Habit 3: stop paying this tax

Blaming the game for input delay when you are on a 30Hz laptop and a Bluetooth keyboard. Flip it: Turn on the click/tap sound if it helps you sync. Headphones help more than a 240Hz flex.

Habit 4: stop paying this tax

Skipping ship and ball practice. They are half the later official set. Flip it: Start user levels on Easy/Normal, not the front page of rated Demons.

Keep a tiny notes file

Write down one map, one loadout, or one setting that worked. GD players who improve fastest are not the ones with the most tabs open — they are the ones who stop repeating the same wipe.
