Habit 1: stop paying this tax
Buying wonderkids with no work permits or no playing time. They rot in the U21s and hate you. Flip it: Start unemployed or with a club whose expectations you can read. Managing a giant on day one hides whether you understand the match engine.
Habit 2: stop paying this tax
Changing tactics after one bad bounce. Give a shape 8–10 games unless the locker room is on fire. Flip it: Pick a familiar shape (4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3) and roles that match attributes, not a viral wonder-tactic from three patches ago.
Habit 3: stop paying this tax
Ignoring player roles vs individual instructions. They stack into nonsense. Flip it: Set training and rest. Fatigued pressers concede in minute 80.

Simming every match while the tactic is unproven. Watch a few, then sim. Flip it: Scout your own squad before the transfer window. You already have a left back; you just never looked.
Keep a tiny notes file
Write down one map, one loadout, or one setting that worked. FM26 players who improve fastest are not the ones with the most tabs open — they are the ones who stop repeating the same wipe.
