Habit 1: stop paying this tax
Ignoring spirit, weapon swap, or the new defensive layers until a campaign boss one-shots you. Flip it: Pick a class and a skill gem that the campaign actually supports. Swapping every zone is how you brick sockets.
Habit 2: stop paying this tax
Spending currency like it is mapping day 3 of PoE 1. The economy is a different game. Flip it: Dodge is a resource. Standing in telegraphs because 'PoE 1 trained me to facetank' is a wipe.
Habit 3: stop paying this tax
Skipping support gems that enable the skill. A 3-link with a plan beats a pretty unique you cannot use. Flip it: Follow a current-patch written guide if the tree intimidates you. Inventing is for character two.

Going into endgame maps with uncapped elemental-style defenses. Flip it: Vendor and loot filter still matter. The ground will lie.
Keep a tiny notes file
Write down one map, one loadout, or one setting that worked. PoE 2 players who improve fastest are not the ones with the most tabs open — they are the ones who stop repeating the same wipe.
