R.E.P.O. Beginner Guide
A first-week plan for R.E.P.O.: how the loop works, what to do in session one, and the mistakes that waste the most time.
What R.E.P.O. actually is
R.E.P.O. is a co-op horror extraction toy: you physically grab valuable objects, carry them without breaking them, and extract while monsters and proximity chat do their best to ruin the run. The loop you will repeat: Enter a level, find valuables, move them with the grab tool without yeeting them, meet the quota, extract.
Your first session
Play a round with friends who will not slam the porcelain. The physics are the joke and the skill. Learn monster tells instead of sprinting every hallway. Sound is a mechanic. Extract when the quota is met. Greed is how highlight videos happen. Use proximity chat for callouts. Muting is valid if the lobby is a concert.
Mistakes that end runs
Throwing items 'to save time'. Fragile loot has a health bar in spirit. Splitting 6 ways with no cart plan. Someone has to be the mule. Fighting every monster. Some are avoided; some are bullied; know which. Standing in a doorway with a long object. Clipping is a wipe.
What 'good' looks like after a week
You should be able to explain R.E.P.O.'s core loop in one sentence, recover from a bad session without rage-reinstalling, and know which mode or map is for learning versus for ego. If you are still lost, re-read the first-session steps instead of hopping to a random viral build.
