RimWorld Tips and Tricks
Practical RimWorld habits: the taxes most new players keep paying, and what to do instead.
Habit 1: stop paying this tax
Wooden rooms around a wooden battery. Fire is the tutorial. Flip it: Crashland on a temperate forest with Cassandra or Phoebe, not Ice Sheet Randy, for the first colony.
Habit 2: stop paying this tax
Recruiting every raider until the colony is 18 moods in a 8-person fridge. Flip it: Prioritize a freezer, beds, and a growing zone. Mood is a resource.
Habit 3: stop paying this tax
Ignoring recreation and beauty. Mental breaks start 'stories'. Flip it: Draft and practice a simple choke. Three unarmed pawns in a hallway still lose to a manhunting pack if you panic.
Habit 4: stop paying this tax
Installing 200 mods before you survive one winter vanilla. Flip it: Read the work tab. Doctors should not be hauling during surgery.
Keep a tiny notes file
Write down one map, one loadout, or one setting that worked. RimWorld players who improve fastest are not the ones with the most tabs open — they are the ones who stop repeating the same wipe.
