WARDOGS Settings and Performance
Steam minimums, 100-player hitching, proximity voice, and why a freeze on a ridge costs a kit.
Official baseline
Steam lists Windows 10, 16 GB RAM, Intel Core i5-8600 / Ryzen 5 3500, GTX 1660 / RX 590, 50 GB, and a broadband connection for 1080p low 60 FPS upscaled. Recommended is Windows 11, i7-12700K / Ryzen 7 5700X, RTX 3070 / RX 6700 XT for 1440p medium. Install on an SSD. This is a 100-player destructible map, not a 5v5 server.
Cap FPS, cut hitching
Hold a frame time you can keep when a town collapses. Drop shadows, volumetric fog, and dense foliage on Bakurani if the valley hitchs. A freeze mid-peek deletes the kit you just bought.
Audio is information
Proximity voice is part of the design — tactics and trolling. Wired ethernet, disable extra overlays, and do not rely on Discord alone for the third faction walking up the stairs.
Servers
Patch 0.11 (14 September 2026) split Community and Official browsers, added community text search, and made community server IDs persist across map changes. If your squad cannot find each other, you are on the wrong tab.
Early Access
Launch week had a stability hotfix. Expect balance and browser changes. Re-test sensitivity after patches. Do not max a preset you cannot hold in a 100-player Hot Zone.
