Civ 6 Settings and Performance
Settings that matter for Sid Meier's Civilization VI: stability, audio, and the options that actually change how you play.
Start with stability, not max settings
A hitch in Sid Meier's Civilization VI is a lost fight, a missed click, or a crash into a wall. Cap FPS to a number you can hold, turn off extra overlays, and use a wired connection for anything competitive.
Setup note 1
Turn timer off in single player. Online is a different social contract.
Setup note 2
Strategic view if the 3D map hides yields. Yields are the game.
Setup note 3
Gathering Storm / Rise and Fall add systems. Enable the ruleset you own and wanted.
Accessibility
If motion, color, or audio mix is fighting you, use the in-game accessibility options first. Civ 6 is more fun when you can actually parse the screen.
