One more turn — after you actually plan districts

The loop
Civilization VI is Firaxis's 4X: settle, district, research, and win by science, culture, domination, religion, or score. The new player trap is building wonders instead of a campus.
Settle a city, place districts on bonuses, produce units or buildings, then push a victory path before the AI snowballs.
First moves
- 1.Play a game on Settler/Chieftain with a straightforward civ (Rome, Germany, or whatever the tutorial suggests).
- 2.Learn district adjacency. A campus next to mountains is the tutorial.
- 3.Scout early. City-states and second city locations matter more than a turn-20 wonder.
- 4.Pick a victory type by the medieval era and stop hedging all five.
