CS2 Spray Control and Counter-Strafe
Why you lose mid-range duels, and the only movement habit that actually matters.
Stop moving before you shoot
Counter-strafe: tap the opposite key so your accuracy resets, then shoot. Shooting while you still have velocity is how you lose a 'fair' duel. This is more important than any aim trainer playlist.
Range decides the trigger
Close: spray. Mid: burst of 3–8, then reset. Long: tap or a very short burst. Spraying 30 bullets from mid-range on Dust II Long is a donation.
Crosshair placement
Head height, pre-aimed at the common angle, not at the floor. If your crosshair is on the dirt when you swing, the first bullet is already late.
Recoil in CS2
Patterns are learnable in a workshop map, but the real skill is resetting. If the first burst misses, stop, counter-strafe, burst again. Chasing a spray into the sky helps nobody.
Deathmatch with a purpose
Play DM as counter-strafe practice, not as a knife-run. One rifle, headshots, reset between kills. FFA chaos teaches panic sprays.
