CT Retake Template

Utility first, two players together, then the defuse. A retake is not five separate duels.

Best for: CTs who rotate late and then peek one at a time

Step-by-step

  1. 1

    Stop the lurk. Clear the path you will actually walk, or the last T kills the retake.

  2. 2

    Throw the smoke or molotov that breaks the post-plant angle you know they have.

  3. 3

    Two players swing the same angle. Solo hero peeks are how retakes die.

  4. 4

    Once you have a man advantage, you can play for time. Do not overpeek a 4v2.

  5. 5

    Defuse with a teammate covering. A naked defuse into an uncleared pit is a clip for them.

Tips

  • Save a flash for the retake, not only for the first contact.
  • If you are 2v4 after plant, you may be playing for weapons and time, not a miracle.
  • Call who is defusing. Two people on the bomb and nobody watching is a classic throw.
