Dota 2 Objectives: Towers, Roshan, Rax
Kills buy time to hit buildings. Aegis is for high ground, not for the triangle.
Towers first
After a kill, hit the nearest tower if a wave is there. Chasing into fog for a sixth kill is how the other team TPs in and you get nothing. T1s open the jungle. T2s open Roshan and high ground paths.
Roshan
Take it when you won a fight or when they cannot walk. Ward the ramps. Aegis is for a building or the next fight. Later Roshans drop more — still not worth a wipe with no buyback.
High ground
Wave, vision, detection, glyph respect, melee rax, leave if cores die. Throne last. A 20k lead is not a reason to five-man ramp without a creep wave.
When not to fight
If your 1 is 30 seconds from BKB, take a stack or a wave. If they have buyback and you do not, do not take a 5v5 on their ramp. If a power rune is spawning and nobody is there, you are fighting the wrong objective.
Map before throne
Rax on one lane, then another, then Ancient. Diving fountain for a rampage is how the Ancient lives another 20 minutes.
