Dota 2 Settings and Hotkeys
Quick-cast, camera grip, minimap clicks, and the helpers you should turn off later.
Quick-cast vs normal-cast
Enable quick-cast on targeted spells you never misclick. Keep normal-cast on skillshots until muscle memory exists. Misclicking a save on a creep is worse than being 50ms slower.
Camera
Use a camera grip key and minimap click-move. Camera locked on your hero is why you miss smokes and incoming TPs. Edge pan or a middle-mouse hold — pick one and stop fighting the screen.
Range indicators and last-hit helper
Turn them on while learning. Turn the last-hit helper off once your ears track the missile. Range indicators can stay; they are not a crutch the way the helper is.
Minimap
Make it large enough to click. Alt-click runes, missing heroes, and items. A silent mid who never pings a missing is why the safelane dies.
Net and FPS
A wired connection and a stable frame rate beat a fancy overlay. Turn off extra overlays if you hitch when five ultimates go off. Dota is already busy.
