Roshan Pit
Aegis is an objective. Contesting it blind is a teamfight you did not have to take.
Roshan lives in the pit in the river. The first Aegis is often the difference between a high-ground attempt and a wasted 30 minutes. You take Roshan when you have vision of the other team, buybacks available, and a reason to want Aegis โ not because the pit is empty on your screen. Later Roshans drop more. Treat the pit like a bombsite: smoke in, ward the ramps, assign who tanks. Call pit, ramps, and whether you have detection.
- First prize
- Aegis of the Immortal
- When to take
- After a won fight or when they cannot walk
- When not to
- No vision, no buyback, enemy cores missing
Key spots
Pit
Roshan. Tank with a hero who can, not the pos 1 with no armor.
Radiant ramp
Dire often contests from this side early. Ward it.
Dire ramp
The other door. A smoke from this ramp is a classic wipe.
Behind pit / cliff
Where observers live. De-ward before you commit 40 seconds of channel.
River approach
The sound cue. If you hear them and you are 3 in pit, you are the Roshan.
Play notes
- Aegis is for taking a building or winning the next fight โ not for farming the triangle alone.
- If you cannot see three enemies, assume they are walking to pit.
- Cheese and later drops do not matter if you wipe for the first Aegis at 18 minutes with no buyback.
