ETS2 Settings and Performance
Settings that matter for Euro Truck Simulator 2: stability, audio, and the options that actually change how you play.
Start with stability, not max settings
A hitch in Euro Truck Simulator 2 is a lost fight, a missed click, or a crash into a wall. Cap FPS to a number you can hold, turn off extra overlays, and use a wired connection for anything competitive.
Setup note 1
Wheel vs pad vs keyboard. A cheap pad is already much better than arrows.
Setup note 2
Traffic density vs CPU in big cities.
Setup note 3
ProMods and map DLC are a rabbit hole. Vanilla Europe is huge.
Accessibility
If motion, color, or audio mix is fighting you, use the in-game accessibility options first. ETS2 is more fun when you can actually parse the screen.
