The loop
GTA V is Rockstar's Los Santos sandbox. The campaign is a complete crime movie; GTA Online is a separate live-service grind with businesses, heists, and a lot of flying motorcycles.
Story: swap protagonists, pull jobs, explore. Online: register as a CEO/MC, run a money loop, then spend it on something that gets blown up.
First moves
- 1.Play Story Mode first if you care about characters. Online will not pause for plot.
- 2.On Steam you may see Legacy and Enhanced clients. Install the one your friends use.
- 3.In Online, do the tutorial businesses that pay without needing a full lobby of griefers — or find a quiet session.
- 4.Save often in Story. The game autosaves, but missions can be long.
