Safety settings first, then worlds — not every instance is for you
VRChat Inc.
The loop
VRChat is a social platform of user worlds and avatars. Desktop mode works; VR is better. The product is other people, so moderation tools and instance types matter as much as graphics.
Pick a public or friends instance, explore a world, mute what you need, then favorite the spaces that feel like a community.
First moves
- 1.Complete the tutorial and set up Safety: hide avatars that crash you, cap downloads, and learn the mute/block flow.
- 2.Start in popular worlds with a Friends+ or Invite if public chaos is too much.
- 3.Desktop users: you can still move, emote, and talk. VR is optional.
- 4.Do not share personal info. It is still the internet with avatars.
