VRChat Settings and Performance
Settings that matter for VRChat: stability, audio, and the options that actually change how you play.
Start with stability, not max settings
A hitch in VRChat is a lost fight, a missed click, or a crash into a wall. Cap FPS to a number you can hold, turn off extra overlays, and use a wired connection for anything competitive.
Setup note 1
SteamVR vs standalone Quest vs desktop are different performance stories. Cap avatars and shaders.
Setup note 2
OSC and face tracking are extras. Voice and movement come first.
Setup note 3
Cache size: VRChat downloads a lot. Give it disk.
Accessibility
If motion, color, or audio mix is fighting you, use the in-game accessibility options first. VRChat is more fun when you can actually parse the screen.
