Talk, shove, and long-rest — combat is only one dialogue option
Larian Studios
The loop
Baldur's Gate 3 is a D&D 5e CRPG. Exploration, conversation, and turn-based combat all scale with how well you read the room — and the environment.
Explore a region, talk or fight, long rest when spell slots are gone, then push the act's map until the story gates you.
First moves
- 1.Play on Explorer or Balanced until you understand advantage, concentration, and surprise.
- 2.Talk to everyone in your camp. Companions are quests, not just DPS.
- 3.Use shove, jump, and high ground. The environment is a class feature.
- 4.Long rest often enough to not hoard every spell 'for later'. Later is a TPK with full slots.
